walking around the town

there are places where tourists are guided and other places they have to find for themselves, assuming they have the time and inclination to explore our great cities

in the underground train station

the open case

the same old song

in the main shopping street

the paper coffee cups

and the gold and copper coins

two drunks slur and shout

over somethin' and nothin'

found in the litter bin

I like this haibun series, Gwilym. Each is a vignette in a grand landscape.

thanks nora,
by the way just discovered a Dylan Thomas haiku - actually a short rhyme in a letter to an early girlfriend - but I've tinkered it just a touch,

rose plot
fringed pool
ferned garrotte

A panorama of places and events recorded through observant eyes. I like this Gwilym. Wish I can see some of them when I visit you there, hopefully, some time...

Vic, I think I'm coming more to poetry that has to do with society's voiceless victims.
